For all the unfamiliars to Touhou, here's the rundown: Utsuho Reiuju is a youkai born from the shadows of hell, a mountain goddess duped her into devouring the Yatagarau (Google it) and thus became a demigod tank with the power to create nuclear stars. This tremendous boost drove her loopy, and made her believe she was to bathe the earth in nuclear hellfire. ...Thankfully, the heroines beat her out of her brief stint of god-induced insanity, and after that, she's been a relatively easygoing neutral. She's a bit of an airhead, and she loves boiled eggs.
Admittedly, the beginning sounded like it was missing a bit of... company, to put it into words without knowing the musical terms. However, by 1:34 , the song really picks up the pace and becomes progressively more epic! Your arrangement is right up there with the others from the doujin metal scene!

Great stuff! I don't think it quite beats out some of the other covers I've heard, like Demetori's, but it's certainly a worthy version and the best possible pick for your first foray into the series. Since you're intent on covering more Touhou, and even though I would certainly love hearing what you make of songs like Locked Girl, or even Grave of Being fading into Suwa Foughten Field (wink wink), I would still suggest following your idea of avoiding the most obvious choices, and either going for something from the newer titles (Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom, Double Dealing Character, or even Impossible Spell Card!) or going full retro with PC-98 era songs. My suggestions from those would be A World of Nightmares Never Seen Before (LoLK Extra Stage) or Grimoire of Alice (Mystic Square Extra Boss).
I would love to hear your rendition of Monster Hunter's "Proof of a Hero". Monster Hunter also has a bunch of other monster themes you can try as well.

Oh wow! Didn't think I'd see any Touhou here! Honestly killed this arrange of Nuclear Fusion and the acoustic short at the end is a great arrange of Lullaby of a Deserted Hell :D
Honestly if you ever want to cover another track from Touhou that isn't as obvious, could try 御伽の国の鬼が島 ～ Missing Power / Oni's Island in the Fairyland ~ Missing Power (Or as it is in some places here: Onigashima in the Fairyland ~ Missing Power ) from Immaterial and Missing Power.

Aaah I would love to hear Pure Furies from Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom! It's definitely one of the better Touhou songs we've had in recent years!

As SOON as I saw this, I was in disbelief. I wasn't sure if what I was seeing was real, but yes, it is. My god, Jonny, you never fail to amaze! I've done this song a couple times before on my Newgrounds page, but this is more harmonious with the instrumentation than what I could have hoped! If I may make a request, that I've been making for a while, I'd like to give a personal list:

I know this is a VERY far-fetched request, but due to the large number of iconic songs in the Touhou franchise (not just U.N. Owen), I suggest making a medley mix of a bunch of fan favorites. My personal requests are Septette for the Dead Princess (Remilia Scarlet), Necrofantasia (Yukari Yakumo), and Bloom Nobly, Ink-Black Cherry Blossom (Yuyuko Saigyouji)

Aww, I was hoping it'd be the Nuclear Fusion from Seiken Densetsu 3... (High-Tension Wire and, if you're feeling crazy, Sacrifice Part 3 are some other ones from that game that'd be amazing to hear your rendition of.)
Great stuff! I don't think it quite beats out some of the other covers I've heard, like Demetori's, but it's certainly a worthy version and the best possible pick for your first foray into the series. Since you're intent on covering more Touhou, and even though I would certainly love hearing what you make of songs like Locked Girl, or even Grave of Being fading into Suwa Foughten Field (wink wink), I would still suggest following your idea of avoiding the most obvious choices, and either going for something from the newer titles (Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom, Double Dealing Character, or even Impossible Spell Card!) or going full retro with PC-98 era songs. My suggestions from those would be A World of Nightmares Never Seen Before (LoLK Extra Stage) or Grimoire of Alice (Mystic Square Extra Boss).
